Teacher Login/DashboardOnce you have logged in to Game as gamemaster using the auto generated password, you received when the game was configured; you will be able to see a screen image as shown on figure 10.1. This is the dashboard which you will use to control a DJEEO game. ![]() Team overviewBelow you can see the team status. You are able to see which teams have registered as ready or choose to force teams to register ready if need be. Before the game can begin all teams have to register as ready. In the "Out/Home" column you can see if teams are out in the field or have returned and changed their status to “Home” (which effectively means that it is half-time or that teams have finished playing the game). You can also see team GPS numbers, how many points they have received and how many waypoints they have found. If teams for some reason are unable to have one of their waypoints registered by the GPS device you have the option to help via the “Move Team to next waypoint" feature. If the game has been created for more teams than are actually participating, you can delete extra teams which are not being used. Before you delete, be aware that it is not possible to create new teams. StartOnce all teams have registered and are ready, you can start the game. If necessary, you can force teams to register as ready by clicking the "Force Ready" link at the bottom of the page. Normally there will be chaos for the first 10-15 minutes, this is normal and will pass. During this phase of the game it might be necessary to assist learners to a certain degree. Consider in which situations it might be necessary to guide (maybe even provide the answer) the teams to a solution for a task.PauseYou could also consider including a break for evaluation and reflection on learning process, which gives learners a chance to consider and improve on co-operative, communicative and problem solving processes. You are able to pause the game by clicking the "PAUSE" button. Half-Time/End gameOnce all teams have returned, click the "HALF-TIME" button on the teacher’s computer. During half-time it is important that teachers gather teams to discuss and evaluate the game so far, as well as formulate tactical and co-operative processes experienced by learners. This evaluation will ensure that Agents and Control Centre have an opportunity to exchange experiences gained during first half of the game. Agents and Control Centre will now swap roles. When mid-time break is over, click the "START SECOND HALF" button on the teacher’s computer. Second half of the game will be played as the first and once all teams have returned you can click the "END GAME” button on the teacher’s computer. GPS handlingGPS handling allows you to see GPS status for each device and which GPS devices are assigned to each team. You are also able to assign a new GPS device to a team if necessary. See GPS Support in the menu on the left for more information. Adjusting pointsDuring the game you can give points for Open Assignments. You do this in the "ADJUST POINTS" section. In this section you can also reward teams points for an "almost correct" answer. See Adjusting Points in the menu on the left for more information. Browse answersIn the "BROWSE ANSWERS" section you can review all answers to the assignments, one by one, together with learners and after a completed game. The section allows you to see team answers for each individual question and registration is real-time, which means that you are able to see team answers both during and after the game. See "BROWSE ANSWERS" in the menu on the left for more information. |
